Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Verify patient identification and maintain accurate specimen labeling protocols
- Process and transport specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA guidelines
- Operate centrifuges and point-of-care testing equipment
- Document all procedures using electronic health records systems
- Assist in training new phlebotomy staff
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked collection areas
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication skills with ability to ease patient anxiety
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
