Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and documentation
- Maintain sterile work environments and adhere to infection control protocols
- Provide compassionate patient care with exceptional communication skills
- Process and transport specimens accurately to laboratory departments
- Assist with patient registration and electronic health record updates
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and training programs
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal discomfort to patients
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficient in medical terminology and specimen handling protocols
