Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection with precision and patient comfort
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory while maintaining chain-of-custody protocols
- Verify patient identification and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA regulations
- Collaborate with nursing staff and laboratory teams for seamless patient care
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control standards
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or NHA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Proficiency in LIS/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- High school diploma or equivalent with additional medical training preferred
