Responsibilities
- Sample Collection: Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients of all ages with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Patient Interaction: Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and ensure a positive and calm experience.
- Documentation: Accurately label, log, and track blood samples to ensure proper chain of custody.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy equipment and supplies according to strict health standards.
- Quality Control: Adhere to all safety protocols and laboratory quality assurance procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (e.g., ASCP, CPT) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- License: Valid New York State Phlebotomy License.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow complex instructions and maintain accurate records.
