Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal discomfort
- Process and transport specimens accurately to laboratory departments
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Provide exceptional patient communication and care during procedures
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment
- Document patient data and specimen information in EMR systems
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid Texas Phlebotomy Technician license
- CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques and specimen processing
- Exceptional interpersonal and patient care skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- EMR/EHR system proficiency preferred
