Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following established protocols
- Process and label specimens ensuring chain of integrity and HIPAA compliance
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy and professionalism during blood draws
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked phlebotomy stations
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and data management
- Collaborate with lab staff to resolve specimen collection issues
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection control procedures
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong venipuncture skills with all patient age groups
- Proficiency in specimen processing and handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer literacy with medical software experience
- Valid CPR certification
