Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label blood specimens for laboratory processing.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and laboratory safety protocols.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and answer questions to alleviate anxiety.
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and ensure equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Document patient data accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
