Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory testing accurately.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort during the draw process.
- Log patient data accurately into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely specimen transport and processing.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Specialist certification required.
- Current, unencumbered Louisiana State Phlebotomy License.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume medical setting.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with medical software.
