Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary collections on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Ensure accurate labeling, processing, and handling of all blood specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Explain procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure informed consent.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and laboratory safety standards.
- Manage inventory for phlebotomy supplies and maintain equipment cleanliness.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to facilitate efficient patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Technologist certification required.
- Valid Missouri State Phlebotomy license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to venipuncture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
