Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort.
- Greet patients warmly, verify identities, and explain the blood draw process to reduce anxiety.
- Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols, infection control standards, and OSHA regulations.
- Properly label, log, and transport biological specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Update patient medical records and demographic information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Assist with inventory management of lab supplies, including needles, tubes, and bandages.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a sterile environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Strong desire to learn and work in the healthcare field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate software systems.
- Must possess a high level of dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
