Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Ensure accurate patient identification and sample labeling
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory with chain-of-custody compliance
- Maintain sterile equipment and inventory of supplies
- Document procedures in electronic health records (EHR)
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with medical staff for efficient workflow
- Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Background check and pre-employment drug screening required
