Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures accurately and efficiently
- Process and transport specimens to the laboratory while maintaining chain of custody protocols
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for analysis following HIPAA guidelines
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and workstations
- Provide patient education and support during blood collection procedures
- Document all procedures and maintain accurate patient records
- Collaborate with nursing and laboratory teams to ensure seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid CPR certification
- Proficiency in medical terminology and specimen handling protocols
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal patient discomfort
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to work independently and in high-pressure environments
- Pass background check and drug screening
