Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing ensuring chain-of-custody protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation following HIPAA guidelines
- Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Provide patient education on procedures and address concerns with empathy
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient specimen collection workflows
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture and specimen processing
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic health records
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment
- Background check and drug screening clearance mandatory
