Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control protocols
- Verify patient identification and prepare samples for transport
- Document collection data in electronic health records (EHR)
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Active Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP/AMT/NHA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficient in specimen handling and processing
- Exceptional patient communication and bedside manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required
