Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead quantum hardware prototyping using superconducting and photonic systems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with industry partners to translate research into commercial applications
- Mentor a team of 5+ quantum researchers and engineers
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Present findings at premier quantum computing conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 5+ years of quantum computing research experience
- Published work in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Experience with cryogenic systems and quantum control electronics
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Proven track record of securing government research funding
