Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and simulation
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers in quantum system development
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum error correction protocols
- Secure $5M+ in annual research grants from NSF/DARPA/private foundations
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum computing
- Shape industry standards through IEEE/ISO quantum computing working groups
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Published 10+ papers in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proven track record of securing government/industry research funding
- Experience mentoring researchers and leading technical teams
- Deep understanding of quantum machine learning and NISQ-era applications
