Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in optimization and machine learning
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and present findings at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge quantum software and physical system implementations
- Secure $2M+ in annual research funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor PhD candidates and lead quantum computing workshops for industry partners
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in machine learning and classical optimization algorithms
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants and manage large-scale projects
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and quantum hardware interfaces
