Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy protocols on 1000+ qubit systems
- Develop error-correction frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in government/industry grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor PhD fellows and build next-generation quantum talent pipeline
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics with 5+ years research experience
- Published peer-reviewed papers on quantum error correction or variational algorithms
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane with 100+ hours of quantum simulation work
- Proven track record of securing NSF/DOE quantum computing grants
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
- Experience with superconducting qubit platforms or trapped-ion systems
- Strong Python/C++ skills with high-performance computing optimization experience
- Preferred: Background in topological quantum computing or quantum machine learning
