Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for real-world applications in cryptography, optimization, and AI
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop quantum error correction protocols
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum system performance
- Secure and manage $5M+ in research grants from government and private entities
- Mentor PhD candidates and interns in advanced quantum methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Strong programming skills in Python, Qiskit, or Cirq with quantum simulation experience
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or photonic quantum processors
- Ability to secure competitive research funding through NSF, DARPA, or industry partners
- Excellent communication skills for technical leadership and stakeholder engagement
