Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum software on superconducting and photonic processors
- Develop quantum simulation frameworks for material science and drug discovery
- Present findings at international conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
- Secure $1M+ in research grants from NSF and DoD
- Mentor PhD candidates and publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science
- 3+ years of quantum programming experience (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and error mitigation
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Proficiency in high-performance computing (HPC) environments
- Experience with quantum circuit optimization and compilation
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
