Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for practical applications in machine learning and optimization
- Lead research teams in developing error-corrected quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into functional quantum systems
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $10M+ in government and private research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Drive ethical frameworks for quantum AI deployment
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction techniques
- Experience securing federal research grants (NSF/DOE)
- Strong background in quantum machine learning applications
