Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications
- Lead cross-functional research projects in quantum error correction and optimization
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge theoretical concepts with quantum processor implementation
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external research funding through NSF and DoE grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum computing interns
- Develop quantum software frameworks compatible with emerging hardware architectures
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper)
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics principles and quantum information theory
- Proven track record of published research in quantum computing or quantum algorithms
- Expertise in high-performance computing and parallel processing architectures
- Strong background in machine learning and its quantum extensions
- Experience with cloud-based quantum computing platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
