Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error mitigation protocols for current quantum hardware limitations
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum processor architectures
- Lead cross-functional teams to translate theoretical models into practical applications
- Publish research in Nature Quantum Information and top-tier conferences
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants through NSF and DARPA partnerships
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates in quantum methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (2019-2024 graduates)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
- Entrepreneurial mindset with 1+ patents or startup experience
