Job Description
Join Nexus Labs at the forefront of computational revolution as we pioneer quantum algorithms that will redefine 2026's technological landscape. We seek a visionary Research Scientist to develop breakthrough quantum solutions for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning. You'll collaborate with Nobel laureates in our state-of-the-art Austin facility, leveraging our 1000-qubit quantum processor to solve problems deemed impossible by classical computers.
Your Impact: Design and implement novel quantum error correction protocols, publish in Nature/Science journals, and shape industry standards for quantum-resistant cryptography. This role includes equity grants and dedicated R&D budget for experimental exploration.
Responsibilities
- Develop proprietary quantum algorithms for industrial-scale optimization problems
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum machine learning models
- Author peer-reviewed publications and secure federal research grants
- Architect quantum-resistant cryptographic systems for enterprise clients
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum open-source initiatives
- Present findings at global quantum computing conferences (Q2C, IEEE)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault tolerance
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Experience with superconducting qubit architectures preferred
