Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for complex computational problems in cryptography, optimization, and machine learning
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and qubit stabilization techniques
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Author groundbreaking research papers and secure federal/grant funding for emerging quantum technologies
- Mentor junior researchers and interns in quantum physics and computational theory
- Stay ahead of emerging quantum threats and develop next-generation security protocols
- Present findings at international conferences and industry summits
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum-focused discipline (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Deep expertise in quantum algorithms, quantum information theory, and quantum error correction
- Strong publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals or conferences
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum simulation environments
- Demonstrated ability to secure research grants (NSF, DoE, or equivalent)
- Experience with cryogenic systems and quantum hardware integration preferred
