Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error mitigation techniques to enhance quantum circuit fidelity
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, Quantum) and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure federal grants (NSF, DOE) and industry partnerships for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and manage quantum computing lab operations
- Contribute to open-source quantum frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Published work in quantum algorithm development or error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Quil) and high-performance computing
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (Rigetti, IBM, IonQ)
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding
- Expertise in machine learning for quantum systems
- Strong background in topological quantum computing or quantum cryptography
