Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and molecular simulation
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to calibrate superconducting qubits and photonic systems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning and hybrid quantum-classical computing
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present findings at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grants
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts into actionable business solutions
