Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting and photonic systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and conference proceedings
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to optimize quantum error correction protocols
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum for internal training
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Present findings at international quantum computing symposia
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and statistical mechanics
- Demonstrated ability to work with cryogenic quantum computing systems
