Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum processors using advanced error correction techniques
- Develop theoretical models for quantum hardware scalability and fault tolerance
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external research funding through NSF, DARPA, and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent development strategy
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Strong background in quantum information theory and many-body physics
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum computing platforms
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams
