Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve quantum supremacy in real-world applications
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in quantum machine learning and cryptography
- Author peer-reviewed publications and secure research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize qubit coherence and gate fidelity
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM SIGACT conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Q#, Cirq) and circuit optimization
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum error correction or algorithms
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, and high-performance computing environments
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong track record of securing research funding (>$500K)
