Responsibilities
- Provide specialized cardiac nursing care including telemetry monitoring, post-op recovery, and emergency intervention
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precise documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health, disease management, and medication protocols
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, JCAHO, and hospital safety standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and cardiac research projects
Qualifications
- Active RN license in District of Columbia (or compact state)
- BSN degree required, MSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years recent cardiac telemetry or ICU experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication abilities with diverse patient populations
- Electronic health record proficiency (Epic preferred)
