Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in fast-paced emergency settings, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precise documentation
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care teams for complex patient cases
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Educate patients and families on discharge plans and preventive care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
- Mentor new nursing staff and contribute to unit excellence
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Mexico (or compact state eligibility)
- BSN degree required; ADN with 2+ years ED experience considered
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years recent Emergency Department experience
- Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills
- Proficiency in Epic EMR system
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
- Spanish bilingual skills preferred
