Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission and throughout the shift to identify changes in condition and immediate needs.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Vital Signs & Documentation: Accurately monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and clinical data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Patient Education: Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, discharge instructions, and self-care management.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hygiene and sterilization standards to prevent hospital-acquired infections.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue alerts and emergency situations, demonstrating critical thinking under pressure.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program.
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Colorado State Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred for most units.
- Experience: No prior clinical experience required; must be a recent graduate or nurse transitioning to a new specialty.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and a strong desire to learn and mentor others.
