Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments to evaluate physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Document patient care activities, vital signs, and responses to treatment accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes, medications, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to all infection control policies and procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, utilizing critical thinking and clinical judgment.
Qualifications
- Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program (BSN preferred for new hires).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-paced team environment.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help patients and their families.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients as necessary, and stand for extended periods.
- Completion of clinical rotations with a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
