Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and patient conditions continuously to ensure immediate response to any changes.
- Document patient care activities, medical histories, and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association) upon hire and maintenance of certification.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient-centered care and advocacy.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new Electronic Health Record systems.
