Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans based on physician orders and patient needs.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies while strictly adhering to safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Monitor patient progress and respond immediately to changes in clinical status or emergencies.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure seamless patient outcomes.
- Provide patient and family education to promote understanding of diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventative health measures.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Foster a compassionate, supportive environment for patients and colleagues alike.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting (preferred).
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (EHR).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if applicable for on-call duties).
