Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive health assessments and monitor patient conditions to identify changes in status.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Documentation: Accurately and timely document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergent situations, providing critical care and support as needed.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Louisiana.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred, ADN accepted).
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
