Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to formulate individualized care plans.
- Medication Administration: Safely and accurately administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Vital Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and clinical status, escalating concerns immediately to the charge nurse or provider.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records and patient charts in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue situations and emergency codes, demonstrating critical thinking under pressure.
- Communication: Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts (MA).
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred; new graduates with excellent clinical skills considered.
- Shift Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with patients of all ages.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical equipment.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and patient-centered care in high-volume settings.
