Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status by performing physical examinations and reviewing medical history.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient vitals and report any changes in condition immediately to the nursing supervisor or doctor.
- Document patient care plans, medications administered, and progress notes accurately in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, therapists, and pharmacists, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Respond to patient emergencies and critical situations with composure and efficiency.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Current and valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
