Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patient health status, documenting findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and according to hospital protocols, verifying patient allergies.
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and critical situations, demonstrating quick thinking and clinical expertise.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous learning opportunities to enhance patient outcomes.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to ensure maximum comfort, safety, and dignity during the night shift.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred; new graduates with BSN are welcome.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Adaptability: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during night shifts.
