Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical assessments and monitor patient health status to identify changes and needs.
- Care Implementation: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, following strict protocols and safety guidelines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all assigned patients.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, medication compliance, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection prevention and control measures to ensure a safe environment.
- Communication: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist in code situations when required.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois (IL).
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required within 3 months of hire.
- Experience: No prior experience required. New graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Computer Proficiency: Comfortable with electronic health record systems and computer technology.
