Responsibilities
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients based on physician orders and nursing care plans.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for efficacy and adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions, including advanced life support when necessary.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent acute care hospital experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for specific units.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work full-time, including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
