Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions.
- Monitor patient conditions, interpret vital signs, and respond effectively to emergent situations.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) of patient observations and interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
