Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Conditions: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and monitor patient vitals to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient progress and care provided.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical situations within the unit.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital safety and infection control policies.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Wisconsin.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; new graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and time management skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Technology: Proficiency in using electronic health records and medical equipment.
