Responsibilities
- Monitor patient health status by performing physical examinations and recording medical history, symptoms, and treatment information.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and according to hospital protocols.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner using Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Respond immediately to patient emergencies and assist in Code Blue situations as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Mexico.
- CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred for hospital units.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or medical-surgical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a high-paced, 24/7 environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients weighing up to 250 lbs as necessary.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
