Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs and health status continuously, reporting any deviations immediately to the nursing supervisor.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Document patient care activities, including assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment, in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and health education to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their treatment options and discharge instructions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infection and ensure a therapeutic atmosphere.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committees to drive excellence in patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and computer navigation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient advocacy.
