Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and monitor patient progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians according to hospital protocols.
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and patient responses to treatment to ensure safety and comfort.
- Document patient care services, including assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on post-discharge care, medication management, and health promotion strategies.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and assist in code blue situations as needed.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
