Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in medical/surgical units with specialized focus on cardiac and oncology departments
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precise documentation
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to emergency situations using ACLS protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide patient and family education on disease management and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EPIC system) and regulatory compliance
- Mentor new nursing staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active California RN license (BRN) required
- BSN degree strongly preferred; ADN candidates with 3+ years experience considered
- Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience in hospital setting
- ACLS/BLS certifications required; PALS preferred
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR system and point-of-care technology
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills
- Excellent communication abilities with patients, families, and healthcare team
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
