Responsibilities
- Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with hospital protocols and nursing standards.
- Medication Administration: Safely and accurately administer medications and treatments while monitoring patient responses.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other staff to ensure comprehensive patient treatment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, charting patient progress and interventions.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about medical conditions and home care instructions.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blues and emergency situations within the unit.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control measures to ensure a safe environment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Mexico.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Proficiency: Ability to navigate Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems efficiently.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transfer patients, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Soft Skills: Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to patient advocacy.
