Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment plans during weekend hours.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, healthcare team members, and patients' families to ensure coordinated care.
- Monitor patient conditions, interpret vital signs, and respond to changes with appropriate interventions.
- Document all patient care accurately and comprehensively in the electronic health record system.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, discharge instructions, and disease prevention.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education pertinent to nursing practice.
Qualifications
- Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS may be required for specific units).
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively during weekend shifts.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical nursing practices.
